Whole Wheat Biscuits: Makes 12 biscuits

Ingredients

  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 6 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups milk

Method

Add flour into a large mixing bowl. Add baking powder and salt. Mix together with a fork. Add in shortening and cut in finely. Add enough milk to make a soft puffy dough. Turn out dough onto a floured surface and gently knead about 20 times. Flatten dough and cut into 2 inch rounds. Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake in a 325 degree oven for 8 - 10 minutes.
